Kantar Australia accredited as a White Ribbon Australia Workplace

Sydney, 8 November 2022: Kantar Australia is proud to announce its successful completion of the White Ribbon Australia Workplace Accreditation Program. The internationally-recognised program facilitated by Communicare involves a whole-of-organisation commitment to address issues of gendered violence and sexual harassment against women. To achieve accreditation, Kantar Australia met 15 criteria under three standards to create a safer and more respectful workplace, which is taking active steps to stop violence against women.

“It’s a great honour to be accredited as a White Ribbon Australia Workplace and play an important part in responding to and helping end violence against women,” said Jon Foged, Kantar’s Executive Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand.

“This process provided an essential platform for us to equip our team with the knowledge and resources to better understand what gendered violence is, how to identify it, and what they can do to prevent it. At Kantar, we strive to create an inclusive and safe working environment for all our people. Undertaking the White Ribbon Australia accreditation process has undoubtedly strengthened our internal culture.”

“We all have a responsibility to stand up and speak out against behaviours that contribute to gendered violence, support women affected by it, and hold perpetrators accountable, both in the workplace and wider community,” he adds. “This program has provided invaluable learnings to empower all our people to do just this.”

White Ribbon Australia Executive Director Brad Chilcott congratulated Kantar Australia for its commitment to achieving accreditation, saying “we urge all Australian workplaces to take the lead of Kantar Australia and demonstrate a culture of zero tolerance of violence against women.”

Violence against women impacts on the health and safety of employees, their wellbeing and their productivity; and has a negative impact on workplace culture, organisational reputation and bottom-line profit and loss.”

The White Ribbon Workplace Accreditation Program has reached over 600,000 employees across Australia in more than 240 Australian workplaces.
